Ever since I picked up my first golf club, I knew I wanted golf to be in my future. I have been golfing competitively for 4 years now, with my first tournament score being a 132. Since then I have been taking lessons once a week, constantly fine-tuning my game so that I can become a collegiate golfer. I’ve moved my scoring average down into the 70’s and I am confident that playing college golf is now a realistic goal.
As I look towards college, I am looking for a team that can be really competitive. I would like to be surrounded by strong, competitive teammates and coaches who can help prepare me for college golf as well as life after college. Also, I would like to go to a school that challenges me academically. I want to be an engineer and stay in the golf field, designing clubs and shafts of the next generation.
I would be a valuable member of a college golf team because of my leadership skills, my work ethic, and my determination. One leadership role I have held outside of golf is a 6th grade camp counselor at my school. Also, next year I will be a mentor to upcoming freshman at my high school.
