Hi my name is Tylen Wallace, a Senior at Classen SAS at NE. I am a student athlete who has maintained a 3.75 and higher in the past couple of years in one of the most rigorous programs around the world: the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. When it comes to academics, I am always trying to achieve. My classes and grades are of high priority to me, so if I start to fail assignments I always ask my teacher for understanding and help. I am very hard working and make sure that I stay on top of my work. This work ethic and sense of drive propels me to win. I am a very competitive person in general as well. I do not like losing, but losing helps me understand that I can’t always win. The respect that I have for golf and it’s players is tremendously high. What makes me respect golf so much is how underrated it is despite the level of skill and practice it requires to master. I’m working very hard to master it myself. For example, my long game is better than my short game, but I have improved drastically with my long game. Right now I am currently trying to get better with my short game. Golf is not an easy sport to play. It is a mental and physical game, that’s why I love the game so much. I have improved as an overall player over the last couple of years playing golf. Just last year I played my first team tournament and scored a 128. In my most recent tournament I scored a 79. I am shooting consistently in the low 80s. This is not good enough. This pushes me to improve. My goal for the spring is to start shooting low 70s consistently. I am a very ambitious young man. I always seek to achieve. I’ve been through some ups and downs in golf, but I have pushed through them. If it wasn’t for my coaches and my incredible parents, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
