Hi my name is Carter Ray. I am from the small town of Walters, Oklahoma. I started playing golf in 2019 after a family vacation. I played golf on the trip then quickly fell in love with it. My first golf tournament ever was a U.S. Kids at Lake Hefner's South Course where I shot 78. I have had many tournaments since then holding a majority less than that 78 as well as a good amount above that. My Scoring average my freshman year of high school was 78.3.I was the one bag on the team and we went on to win the state championship by 37 shots. I improved going into the summer by firing a 31 on the first 9 holes of a south central. Then when I got to my sophomore year I vastly improved my scoring average to a 74.3. I won 5 tournaments, I got 2nd place in 2 of them and top ten in the other 3. Now I just finished my junior year where I had a scoring average of 72.4 and was the regional champion and I placed 4th at the state golf tournament, I shot 69-67-74 (-6). I also had a career low of 65 and I went on to win that tournament by 6 shots. I would love to take my game to the next level and compete at the collegiate level. I am a hard worker and I plan to keep that up. I strive to get better every single day. Thank you for any opportunity that I am given.
