Awesome Par Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Connor Munro. I am 15 years old and I have been blessed with the chance to play competitive golf and I have had an exciting start to what I hope will turn into a college scholarship one day. My dream would be to obtain a scholarship at a school that has great academic and golf programs. That actually would be both a dream and a goal for myself.
Many people have told my parents that one day I will likely be a professional golfer. I am currently playing in the Canadian Junior Golf Association Tour and Golf Association of Ontario events. The age group I play in is 19 and under. Last year in my final year in U15 I had 12 top tens including 3 second place finishes. The bigger players can drive farther than me, but not by much, however I have an excellent coach who has focused on my short game which is where I am able to level the playing field. I have finished second in Canada in points on the CJGA tour for 2017.
My dream and aspirations would be to be a well educated professional golfer. My parents do so much for me to support my golf and I hope to pay them back one day. This winter my Dad is taking me to IMG ACADEMY in Bradenton Florida for a whole month. My parents always make sure I have the best equipment and send me to the best private school, Upper Canada College, in Toronto so that I can excel.

- First stop of MJT TOUR Fall Series. Finished 3rd in the 13 and under group. I also won the longest drive contest. My game is really coming together now as I missed first place by only 2 strokes.

- Although I placed in 6th place it was good enough for me to mathematically lock myself into 7th place overall in the Province of Ontario. I decided to take some risky shots and discovered that there is a relationship between risk and reward.

- A really tough course with a lot of long carries off the tees. Accuracy was important as there is environmentally sensitive areas everywhere.

- Had another weekend of personal success. I set a course record for being the youngest player playing from the men's blue tees to shoot below 100. We refer to Osprey Valley as the "Monster " as it is so long and tough.

- This was my first tournament of my life so I was really nervous. I had a rough start but I came back for the second round to prove that although I am only 9, I have every right to play on the top tour in Canada. I set a MJT RECORD with a 28 stroke improvement over my round 1 score. I won the GolfTown Comeback Award for the first time.

- I found this tour was too easy as I am able to hit the long ball. Although the age group was more appropriate (10 and under ), I was tired of playing on short course with 50 yard par 3's. My Coach and family agreed so I did not finish the season with CJGA and focused on the MJT TOUR.

- I attend IMG for a month each winter. My IMG Coach, Adam Young, maintains contact when I am not in Florida and coordinates my training with my Coach in Toronto, Bradlee. I am surrounded by the best training instruction and facilities that I can possibly be.

- I see Bradlee for 2 hours per week all year round. He and his facility have one instruction facility and instructor of the year for the past 4 years. Bradlee is also a regular contributor to Score Golf magazine.
