Even though I am the oldest of five kids in my family, I was the last member of my family to pick up a golf club. I followed my brothers into the sport after years of skiing, swimming and lacrosse. But once I picked up a club, I knew I found the sport that I was going to dedicate my life to. I can even remember the feeling of making my first birdie shortly after starting to play golf.
I am very lucky to be able to play golf for a high school team that has had success. By the end of my freshman year, I had earned the number one spot and was able to secure individual second place in a playoff during the County championships against a senior who now plays golf Division I golf. In my sophomore year, I was joined on the high school team by my two brothers, and we were able to win both Counties and Districts as a team, in record-setting fashion, including leading my team to a 280, or 8 under par, total score to qualify for the PIAA State Championships.
I am looking for a college where my team leadership skills and ability to motivate others can be used to help my team achieve success. I am able to maintain a 4.0 GPA, while working part-time at a wedding venue, and achieving consistent results on the golf course. I know my ability to handle high standards in numerous areas of my life at the same time is setting me up for a successful experience as a college athlete.
