I developed my love for golf as a toddler. My dad and I used to hit a golf ball back and forth when I had a plastic set of clubs. It was one of my favorite activities to do. In 8th grade, I began to play seriously. I would be at the golf course every day in the summer. This is also when I began taking private lessons. I still take these lessons with my instructor, Scotty McAlarney. Since my freshmen year, I have competed in the AGA events. I have been told I have the right mentality for the game of golf. I am calm and never let my emotions get in the way of my round. Maintaining focus is also one of the strengths I am proud of having. Although I would love to be on a golf course every day, I realize being a student-athlete, the student part comes first. I strive to improve upon my current GPA and make distinguished honor roll again. Being that I play whenever I possibly can, of course I want to continue to play at the collegiate level. I even work at a golf course so I can continue to be around the sport I love. Something my parents have taught me is to always give back and help others. I am also an active member in St. John’s Youth Group where I volunteer in many community-based programs.
