Being the only freshman of my class to receive a varsity letter and the MVP award for junior varsity are the highlights of my high school career so far. Soccer has taught me the value dedication to the sport, sportsmanship, or just the competitive edginess that I have today. I was first introduced to soccer by my parents when I was in first grade. When I first started out I wasn't very good and the sport seemed very hard to me but my parents would keep pushing me and would help me greatly excel to the player I am today. My major goal for high school is to graduate with at the minimum of a 3.8 GPA. My eighth-grade year on my Junior High team taught me a lot. We were having a great season and defeating many of the teams that would challenge us, however there was always one or two teams that would always put up a very tough fight and they would end up beating us. That would remind me that I, myself was not the best I could be so instead of becoming sad about losing I would just work harder so that the next time we would play that team we would beat them. The main thing I took from that year was that hard work does pay off because we did end up beating those teams the next time we played them.
I am looking for a college that will be a good fit for me athletically as much as it would academically. With the experience that I have in soccer I believe I have the ability to compete for a college team. I also think that because I am very competitive that I will bring a better level of intensity to the program. I know I have what it takes to be a college student-athlete for soccer.
