Graham Friday '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Graham Friday and I am a junior at Fox Chapel Area High School located just outside Pittsburgh, PA. I am a third year high school team golfer interested in playing at the collegiate level after graduation. Participating in collegiate level golf coupled with strong academics, should prepare me for what will hopefully be a fulfilling career and purposeful life. I have been able to juggle with success a tough academic schedule as well as train non-stop for golf. It is my desire to continue to excel at both and be the best I can be in these two important aspects of my life as well as in everything I do. I started playing golf at the age of seven years old and immediately fell in love with it. I am 5'9" and weigh 160 pounds, right handed, maintain a USGA handicap of 5 (with the goal of getting this to a 2 or 3 by next summer), and participate in dozens of travel tournaments as well as play on my school's varsity team. I certainly have not reached my final goals in golf, but I can tell you with certainty that I work harder than any other student golf team member I know. I am the one who is at the range day in and day out, playing round after round, and watching the Golf Channel to see if I can pick up a tip or two. Some of my recent accomplishments include: >2009 WPIAL Individual Semi-finals >Placed 1st in the 2010 Northeast Junior Golf Tour Championship >Placed 1st in the 2010 Northeast Junior Golf Tour Event at Lenape Heights >Participated in various Kings Family Restaurant and the PA Golf Association Junior Championship Tournaments >Maintain a high school Weighted GPA of 4.16 My realistic goals for college golf are fairly simple. I would like to play as a freshman but more importantly I would like to make a positive impact on a team and win a divisional championship. I know that I can have a very positive influence on any team if given the chance. I take everything seriously when it comes to athletics and academics and feel that I would be a great role model for other student athletes.
