John (Jack) Morrissey '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is John (Jack) Morrissey and I am a rising senior (class of 2023) at Springfield High School in Springfield, PA (a suburb of Philadelphia).  I have competed on our school’s Varsity Golf team since freshman year.  Last year, I received Honorable Mention in our Conference and helped our team to finish in 3^rd place overall. 

My handicap is consistently around 7.5 and my school’s home course is Rolling Green Country Club in Springfield, PA.  My 18 hole average is 78.5.   I am currently 6’2” and weigh approximately 150lbs.  I am also a starting pitcher for the Varsity Baseball team.

Academically, I have a 3.8 GPA and am a member of the National Honor Society.  I'm very interested in exploring opportunities that will allow me to contribute to a strong golf program while fulfilling my academic goals related to engineering and flight science.  I plan to major in an Engineering program that focuses on Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering while minoring in German 

I am passionate about golf and I am passionate about science.  I am looking for a program that challenges me to develop as a player and gives me the opportunity to contribute to a successful team.  I am open to schools in any geographic region as long as the program supports both my academic and athletic pursuits.
