If you asked me five years ago what sport I’d be playing in high school, I would’ve told you baseball without hesitation. I’ve always been around the game of golf with my dad being a golf course superintendent. I’d go play here and there in the summer after baseball ended but there was never really anything serious about it. Four years ago I needed to make a decision on whether or not I wanted to play and pursue a career in baseball or golf. Whatever I picked I was going to give a total effort in and wouldn’t ever quit. Well, I felt like God was leading me towards golf and for the last three years I’ve never looked back. It’s been a grind everyday for the past three years. I’ve gone through phases where I haven’t really wanted to pick up and club and go practice but I did anyways. I’m a competitor and I have a drive to be the best. I know that God has me playing this sport for a reason, and that’s why I put so much effort into golf. I’m not going to say I’m the hardest worker or that I work more than anybody because I don’t, but that doesn’t keep me from trying. I try to give a 110% effort into everything I do, whether that’s doing a job at work or playing golf. I tell myself I’m going to be the best at whatever I do and that’s my motivation. I’m certainly not the best golfer, I know that, and that’s what drives me. I love a challenge and I love proving people wrong. I set pretty lofty goals for myself. I’ve had two goals in golf since I’ve started: play collegiate golf and play professional golf. I don’t care what some people say, I know I can make it if I work hard enough.
