Casey Tierney '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Casey Tierney. I go to a small high school in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. I am a sophomore this year. My primary sport is golf but I also played basketball. In golf, I fell 3 strokes short from making the state tournament this previous season. I made it passed the district tournament without too much trouble. My average score for eighteen holes is a 95. In regionals, I shot a 103, which is okay, but not great for me. The best I have ever shot for 18 was an 85 at my home-course of Sweetens Cove located in South Pittsburg.

Academically, I am a good student. I pay attention during classes and my test scores are usually pretty good. In my freshman year, I slacked off a little and it affected my GPA pretty badly. My grades are coming back up and so is my GPA. My GPA is at a 3.4 right now.

I also played basketball, I gave up on it this year to focus on my academics and to work on my golf game. I am a good 3-point shooter and I play defense pretty well. If I was ever offered to play basketball, I probably would not accept it unless it was full-ride but I don't believe I am good enough for that.
