Michael Crossland '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello coaches, my name is Michael Crossland. I will be starting my junior year in high school and I’m looking forward to the chance to pursue golf at a collegiate level. Growing up in a family of avid golfers, the love for golf naturally came to me at an early age. 

My competitive nature always pushes me to want to be the best. I started competing in tournaments at the age of seven. I joined the PGA Junior Tour and have since advanced to the NTPGA All American Tour and also compete in high school at the Texas 5A level. I’m currently working on advancing my competitive resume to qualify for future AJGA and other national events. Not only do I have a strong drive for competition but I also have a passion for promoting the sport of golf. I always take the opportunity to not only learn new techniques about the game but also never miss the chance to help someone else start their golf career. I have a passion for learning the mechanics and nuances of the golf swing and work with my swing coach to try and improve my own mechanics, as my personal swing has developed over the years. Going into my junior year I am the only returning varsity athlete and I have had to take on a different role on my high school golf team. I’ve learned to step up and become a leader and positive mentor to my teammates. I have found a joy in taking the other golfers and working with their swings and course management skills to try and help improve their games along with helping me view the game from a different perspective. My goal as a collegiate student athlete will be to find a program that not only I can help push to a higher level of success but can develop me into the best version of myself. A coach that has the ability to tap into my potential and drive me beyond what even I believe I can be. As a program, if you recruit me, know you will be getting a student athlete who will give you everything I have every time I walk into a classroom or onto the course. You will be getting a determined individual who will out work everyone around them, because I truly believe there is a future in this sport for me.
