Jack Pope - Golf ...Personal Statement
My goal is to play college golf at a competitive school while earning a high-quality education from a top business school to build a strong foundation for the future.
I started playing golf my freshman year of high school, much later than many of my peers, after being a three-sport athlete in middle school. I have devoted a significant amount of effort into improving my golf game and am proud of my accomplishments. Some of my achievements include a 3-year letterman on a highly competitive team sending 4 graduated seniors to Division I and III golf programs, two Second Team All-District (UIL 15-6A) awards, an Individual and Team Regional Qualifier, and a District Team Championship. In addition to school golf, I compete and play in multiple Texas junior golf tours. My best finishes to date include 2nd place in the TJGT (Texas Junior Golf Tour) – Gleannloch Farms Championship, 4th place in the TJGT – High Meadow Ranch Shootout, 6th place in STPGA Turkey Shootout at Walden on Lake Conroe, 8th place in STPGA Prestige New Braunfels and numerous Top 5’s in STPGA junior events.
Academically, I will be a 2023 honor graduate (currently Top 9% of 900 students). I am in the National Honor Society, have a 5.17 GPA in Advanced Placement classes, and scored a 1350 on my SAT (750 Math / 600 English). I also plan to take the ACT and the SAT again this school year to try to improve my scores.
