I’ve only been playing golf for four years, but have learned to love the sport and continue to improve. Although I did not start my freshman year on varsity, I was recognized by my coach for my hard work, and received the Coach’s Award my freshman year. Since then, I have been climbing the varsity ladder. My sophomore year, I won my first tournament with a 78.
I practice every day with my school team, and by myself on the weekend, determined to improve my skills. In addition to weekly lessons, I continue to play tournaments throughout the year. My time management and discipline has improved while playing golf, and I have learned to work hard, in order to achieve my goals. My endurance and dedication have helped me not only in the game of golf, but in life in general.
My goals for college are to get a business’s degree and represent my school as a collegiate athlete on the golf team. I am looking forward to representing a university in Texas or neighboring states. In addition to improving my golf game, I enjoy snowboarding as well as water sports, and reading science fiction. I am a member of the Academy of Finance at my high school. I have an internship this summer assisting young junior golfers in a golf camp and helping manage the office.
