I have grown up in a family that loves golf, and I have been playing with my dad and grandpa since I could walk. I began taking lessons and playing in tournaments when I was 7 years old and placed in my first tournament at age 9. I also got my first hole in one when I was 10 years old. As I got older, I began getting more serious about my golf instruction and tournaments by getting a swing coach and doing golf fitness programs, as well as entering competitive NTJPGA and TJGT tournaments. At that time, my goal was to make the high school golf team. Now that I am playing high school varsity golf, my goal is to play golf in college and graduate with a degree in Business.
Golf has taught me discipline, patience, work ethic and integrity. I have learned to play well under pressure and to block out any distractions around me. Having the right mental attitude is as important as my swing so that I can quickly bounce back after a bad hole. A unique aspect of my personality is that I am very independent – I make decisions based on what I think is right and am rarely influenced by what others are doing. This makes me a great golfer because I focus on what I need to do to deliver results.
