Personal Statement

My dream since age four was to be a great golfer. I have been competing since age six and have over 75 top 5 medals and wins to my credit. The next few years, I hope to continue to develop my skills and to be part of a team where I can share my dedication and enthusiasm. The past three years, I have led my high school varsity team in scoring, stats and medals. I tied the school record in 2016 with a 67 and have shot under par consistently for the past six months. I have been an individual medalist in 6A high school consistently and I have placed in the top 10 in multiple major junior tournaments.

I did not grow up a country club kid. I have worked very hard practicing mostly at public courses taking group lessons.  I'm grateful for my parents who sacrificed a lot to allow me to pursue my passion.  One of my best memories is the time I qualified for the US Kids World Championship at Pinehurst in 2015 and my parents turned the trip into our family vacation with the help of my grandparents.  I was able to a play #2 with my 78-year-old grandpa, which I will always remember.  He died the next year of lung cancer.   When I'm not golfing, you can find me at a local lake or pond bass fishing with a buddy.

This year, I have played in the US Open Qualifier, the USGA Jr. Amateur Qualifier and multiple TJGT,  AJGA and LJT events. My goal as an NCAA Student Athlete is to continue this success as part of a program where I can make an impact and contribute to a team while getting an excellent education.

My current weighted GPA is a 3.82, I have taken multiple AP classes and will continue to work hard as a student athlete.

I would be a great asset to your school and I can guarantee I will work as hard or harder than anyone else to achieve our goals. I am focused on being a great teammate and contributing to the successes of whatever program I end up in.

My current GHIN is +2.5 and I am positive due to the work I have put in that I will continue to have successes.

I am currently working on tournament and overall player development with PGA touring Professional and 2 time PGA winner and NCAA Div 1 National Champion Troy Matteson. This is preparing me for the next level of my career and I will be competing in 6A High School as well as STPGA and AJGA and Legends Junior Tour events, in addition I will playing in some PGA qualifiers to see how my game stacks up against PGA touring professionals.

Since working with Troy I have consistently broken par and have shot in the 60's 3 times in the last 3 months. I am looking forward to the next step in overall development and education. I have worked hard to guarantee my success both on and off the course.

By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
