Michael Gonzales '18 Recruiting Profile

Since I can remember, I have been interested in Golf. I started playing competitive golf when I was in the seventh grade. After my first junior high tournament, I knew this was the sport I was destined to play. I absolutely love the game of golf and it is my dream to play it collegiality.

As a player, I am highly coach-able, hardworking, and passionate about the game. I have played varsity golf since my freshman year. I have also been competing in the Beltway Jr. Golf Tour outside of school tournaments for the last 3 years. I work hard every day to better myself as a player, student, and person. I call my little 9 hole state park golf course my home away from home. Now, with my high school career nearly over, I am merely beginning to mature as a golfer and I want to take my skills and passion to learn and play to the next level. I still have a lot to grow to be the golfer that I can be. I know with the right coach and team I can continue to develop and dramatically improve my golf game and be an asset to the program.

Academically I am in the top 10% of my class with a 3.74 GPA and taking college credit classes my Jr. and Sr. years. I have been awarded academic all-district since my freshman year as a two-sport athlete (baseball and golf) with my main focus on Golf. I am also an athletic trainer for football and soccer and am a member of several school groups and committees. I volunteer in my community where I can and try to be an active role model to not only my younger brothers but to others as well. It would be a dream come true to be able to obtain a quality college education while being able to represent my school on their golf team, play the game that I love, and grow to the golfer that I can be.
