Joshua Rios '23 Recruiting Profile

My aspiration is to go as far as I can possibly can in my golf career. I want to max out my potential as a golfer and see where it will take me. And hopefully one day play on a professional level. I love the game of golf more than anything in this world, it’s a way of life for me.  
I also wish to give back to my parents by acquiring a scholarship. It’s the least I can do for everything they do for me. 

I feel I can be an asset to your golf team as I am tenacious, determined, and I never give up even on the days where my golf game is not at its best. I put in the practice time in the areas where my game requires improvement and I am a team player. I also have a lot of tournament experience since I have been on the varsity team as a freshman and I have played in the STPGA since I was 6 years old. I know and love to play under pressure as one stroke is the difference between winning and losing.

What makes me different from other recruits is I will always do my best to rightfully represent the team and university. I've been athlete ever since I can remember, I come from a family of athletes with a rich history in golf. I am very passionate about winning and will help create a successful environment on the team. As far as academics is concerned, I am a good student, I have good retention skills and my GPA is above 3.2 You will never have any issues with me with grades as they are my number one priority in attending a higher institute of higher education.
