Personal Statement

December 19, 2022 verbally committed to play golf for LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas Fall of 2023

I have been playing golf since I was around five years old. My dad and I would go to a local municipal course every weekend and he would walk me through a round or two. Ever since I made my first par, golf was a passion. In any sport I have played I have always loved competing and improving my game. I have honestly forgotten how life was before golf.

My coaches have said that I am naturally gifted in golf and academics. However, I still strive to get better. I spend hours on the putting green and hit hundreds of balls per day. I study each night, striving for perfection in the classroom. My drive is what sets me apart from my peers. Coaches also have told me that they are amazed at how much of a team player I am, and how I help my teammates along in their golf and academic journey.

My goal for my collegiate career is not only to play NCAA Division 1 golf, but to excel in it and win championships as a team.

  • Had a good tournament with a 1 under par 71 on the first day. Windy conditions and not hitting the ball well but my short game saved me. Even par 72 on the second day and while still not striking the ball well I grinding out some pars and some birdies and an eagle. It was gusting to 25 mph and constant at 16-18 mph wind. My shortgame was the best part of the tournament. I finished 1st with a 2 stroke lead over 2nd place. 1 under par 141 for the tournament. Overall a great mental game and shortgame tournament. Approximately 68 players.
  • Camp/Event
  • McAllen Regional Preview
  • 9/23/22 to 9/24/22
  • +5 77 on the first day. Never had played or even seen the course and was hitting my driver a little wayward. Short game was on fire however and I got up and down a ton. 1 under par 71 on the second day. I was more confident after seeing the course and decided to play little more aggressively. My driver and 3 wood off the tee was perfect and my putting was great. I finished 2nd place medalist with a +4 148 for the tournament. 122 players in the tournament, 21 Rio Grande Valley varsity teams.
