I was introduced to golf in 6th grade when we moved from The Woodlands, TX to Florida (my Dad got a new job.) He belonged to an old fashioned type golf club and I started playing a couple times with him. I also went to TOP Golf for fun. When we moved back to The Woodlands in October 2015 (7th grade), I started playing a little with Dad and his Sunday golf buddies. I enjoyed playing and they said I was “a natural” and I went to a few golf camps. I joined the Golf Club in Jr. High then made the high school golf team freshman year.
My recent tournaments are listed in the Events Section.
In the 2019 school year, I won a couple school events (individual), the Spring JV District with a 73 and another school tournament with a 72.Summer 2019 went well. Played my first AJGA qualifier in Palm Desert and shot 74. Won a HGA, Won a TJGT at Panther Trails, The Woodlands, 2nd in a Beltway at High Meadow Ranch, Houston City Jr. Amateur placed 11th, tied for 7th in the Elite Finale TJGT.
I was elected Sophomore class President and elected Junior class President at The Woodlands High School and will continue to serve on Student Council in my Senior Year. Currently ASPL -Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and working on Eagle Scout, member of CAR (Children of the American Revolution).
One of the reasons I really like golf is that it’s a sport that I can do by myself anytime and not depend on any friends or making arrangements. I became an “only child” when we were in Florida because my brother, and best friend, Spencer passed away from the “C” word (as we call it). He was 14. He had his leg amputated because of a tumor on his ankle and he went through so much awful stuff in a short time. I didn’t really know he was that sick as he was still really fun and could walk pretty well on his fake leg and great on his crutches, he never tipped over once, ever! I think about him as I am walking on two legs and am very grateful every day that I can walk on two legs and am healthy. I do not take for granted walking at all. Golf is something I can do anytime and it’s just me against me.
We have always been a healthy eating family especially with my brother and trying to heal him. In the past 2 yearsI have reworked my shape from what I call “a little fluffy” to Slim and now to Strong and Fit. I have done this via You Tube coaching with Weight Training and of course daily diet (lots of protein) and taught myself how to cook and walking around the golf course in the heat helps too! This has really improved my strength and driving distance. In January of 2019 I weighed 148Ibs, and by January 2020, I weighed 185Ibs. I can outdrive almost anyone I play with!
