Personal Statement

I discovered my passion for golf at the end of my eighth-grade year. Beginning my golf career at the age of fourteen is much later than a majority of golfers. I have spent the last three years devoting countless hours to learning techniques, developing skills, practicing, and competing have all made me into the person I am today.  I would be a great candidate for your team because I am an honest and dedicated athlete who focuses not only on my success but on the success of my team. You will not find another athlete with more drive or focus than myself.  I am on the golf course six days a week practicing, learning from other golfers, and competing with my peers. I believe I can never stop learning and trying to perfect my game.
The game of golf is my passion but I am also a very dedicated student.  I have maintained all A grades throughout my high school career.  I have also participated in dual credit classes in order to have a step up in my college academic career.  I plan to pursue a degree in business because I know this will be a flexible and beneficial degree that will help me in both my professional and personal life.
Being a leader and a man of character are two of the most important traits that a player and team member can possess. I always want to play my best and be successful, but when my team is successful I feel full of pride and achievement.   We know that without each other we would not share the success we have had over the past three years. As I begin my senior year in high school I have mixed emotions.  I feel sad knowing it will be my last year, however, I am very excited to see what my future holds.  I hope to continue my golf journey in college so that I can develop myself as a player and contribute to the success of my team and a collegiate program.

  • Note from Instructor. On May 11, 2020, Aiden Waggoner attended his first K-vest session at West Texas Rehabilitation Center. At that time he had started to pick up the game of golf and was showing more interest in the game and was wanting to play on the Jim Ned golf Team. His first session consisted of a full biomechanical assessment of his body, analysis of his swing via high speed cameras, and a 6-dimensional computer analysis of his swing and body mechanics resulting in very specific activities and exercise golf drills to increase in his body awareness and to improve the efficiency and timing of his swing. Over the next 2 years Aiden continued to attend and participate in K-vest training sessions. We alway joked that he was a man of few words, but was like a sponge and was absorbing all feedback to better his game of golf. His amazing sense of body awareness is like none I’ve seen before at such a young age, and he is able to utilize this ability to push himself further and to continue to improve and fine tune his movements and skills each year. This year (junior season) Aiden completed an all time high school achievement of District Champion. This achievement award speaks to many characteristics of Aiden's dedication to the game of golf. No,this has not come easily, he has had days of mental and physical struggles, but he continued to persevere through all of these challenges. Aiden has dedicated countless hours in practice and exercise to gain a very efficient swing through his body awareness and timing. What an honor to witness a young man accept a challenge, dedicate his time and effort, and to transform his body and swing to accomplish District Champion! The future can be endless as he continues to strive to his next chapter to play college golf! Professionally, Brad Hicks, PT, DPT, CMTPT, CKTP Assistant Director, Adult Therapy
