As a high school senior, I have been involved in competitive golf for the past six years. While I began playing casually at age eleven, my passion for the game evolved when I moved to middle school. It was then that I started to play in both school and regional tournaments, and quickly became involved in the Calloway Junior Tour, the largest junior tour in the state of West Virginia. Once I got a taste of the competitive side of golf, I was hooked, and began to focus my efforts on improving my game and learning about what it took to win. I have since taken that ambition to a higher level, and in high school, have been involved in AJGA events, the Hurricane Junior Tour, the WV Amateur, and two high school state championship teams.
Over the past few years, I have made significant strides in all aspects of my game. While I have always focused on my short game and putting, I have persevered to develop my long iron and driving game. I have worked with Bob Sowards, PGA (PGA National Club Pro Champion - 2004), to build greater width in my full swing game, which has allowed for greater distances and improved consistency. My average tournament yardage is around 6,700 yards and I consistently drive the ball between 275-300 yards, as dictated by the hole that I’m playing. In 2016, I was able to take my overall game to a higher level when I began working with Bob Rotella, Ph.D. His guidance has been instrumental in solidifying my pre-shot routine and overall approach to strategy when on the course in competition.
My golf game continues to improve and I’m looking forward to taking it to a higher level with a college program seeking a strong individual and sought-after teammate. I am blessed with a supportive family, surround myself with people of good character, and possess a respect for the game that allows me to give it nothing but my very best. I look forward to our next step together as I seek to earn a spot on a competitive collegiate team.
