Dear Prospective Coaches,
I want to thank you in advance for considering my resume. My name is Hunter Thibert and I currently live in Mequon, Wisconsin where I am a Senior at Homestead High School. I was born and raised in North Orange County California (La Habra). My family and I moved to Wisconsin after my Freshman year at Servite High School, where I excelled on the golf team prior to Covid canceling our season.
My goal is to play competitive golf at a university and be a great teammate, while excelling as a student athlete in the classroom as I study business administration.
At age 14, when I hung up my baseball glove & cleats, football and basketball, my dedication and passion is playing golf. During my two years at HHS, my teammates and I won our conference championship both years and played in the Division 1 WI State Tournament where we finished 2nd and 6th respectively.
Along with our Team Success, I personally enjoyed individual success.
We are currently in the middle of my Senior season. Our team advanced through Regionals where we finished in second place and I shot a 76 (6th place). We won the North Shore Conference, and I made first team all-conference. I was low medalist in the conference championship at Kohler (Irish Course). This is the second year in a row I was medalist at our conference championship. (Last year was at Erin Hills, and I made 6 birdies.) The Bigger the stage and the longer the course, the better I play. I finished second place in a strong field at another championship golf course in TPC-Deere Run with a 74 (4 birdies). I tied for medalist at the BC Invite where I shot 71 (-1), and proceeded to win on the first hole of a playoff.
Sophomore and Junior Seasons I made 1st Team All-Conference and the All-State Team my Junior Year. (Also named Academic All State both years.)
This past season, as a Jr. I finished 10th in the state (3rd amongst Jr's) with a scoring average of 74.2. My current index is 0.4 and trending lower. I was low medalist at our conference championship where I shot a 71 (-1) at Erin Hills. (I made 6 birdies that day on a major championship golf course which measured 6850 yards.) I also shot 74 at our Sectional meet where I finished birdie, par (lipped out birdie) and an eagle on 18 which helped my team qualify for the State Tournament. (We edged out the 2nd place team by a shot and 3rd place by two swings.)
Competed in the Southern California PGA Jr Tour (5 years)
Compete in the Wisconsin PGA Jr Tour/WPGA (2 years)
Jr. Club Champion Hacienda Golf Club (La Habra Heights, CA) / Jr. Club Champion North Shore Country Club (Mequon, WI)
My golf coach is Mr. Andy Fish (Forged Golf). Strength and fitness is Mike Steinmetz (Forged Fitness). I also work with Mr. James Oh, who is a short game specialist in Southern California. Matt Krug (who works with the Milwaukee Brewers) is my mental coach.
When I'm not playing and competing on the golf course, I enjoy hunting, fishing, mountain biking, skiing and making hand-made fishing lures. (Please inquire about the log cabin fort I made for my brother.)
Coach, given the opportunity to join your team; I will be a great teammate, I am very coachable and am extremely confident that I can compete to help the team meet our goals. My goal is to continually improve as I progress during my golf career.
Thank you again for your time, I would be honored if you reached out with any questions.
Sincerely,
Hunter Jeremiah Thibert
