I started golfing when I was 5 years old. Ever since then, it has been my dream to play golf in college. During my freshman year of high school, I made the junior varsity golf team where I was a leader as the number one golfer on the team. Also, on three occasions, I was brought up to play in varsity tournaments where I was a strong competitor. As a freshman, I won the Woodland Conference Junior Varsity Championship by 7 shots, beating two of my teammates. Our JV high school team also placed first overall in the championship. This is where I grew the most as a student athlete, as I had the experience of playing in a high pressure situation.
In addition to working hard in golf, I continue to work hard at school. Academics are a critical part of my college selection. I am looking to attend a school that will not only challenge me athletically, but also academically. I intend on studying either engineering or architecture in college. I don’t have a preference on the geographical location; I am open to going to a college anywhere.
Additionally, a key part of my life, for as long as I can remember, has been hockey. Throughout my years of playing hockey, I have been a leader and a team player. I feel that I can take what I have learned as a leader in hockey and apply it to being a part of a collegiate golf team.
