I have played golf since I was four years old. Making it into college golf has always been my goal. I started off high school golf not so hot but making varsity every year. I understand what it takes to be a college athlete and what it will take to be on track with both golf and school. I intend to go into Marketing and use my social skills to better off a company in the future. Playing collegiate golf on the side was always the goal and I have worked endless hours for this. Last year, in my junior year, I made all conference averaging a 41 in conference. When it came to regionals we played Thornberry Creek. I shot 80 there and won the regional advancing to sectionals. From here I shot 86, and missed state by four strokes. This did not stop me however. I work full time at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club. Whenever not working I would get out on the course and play and practice as much as possible. I now average in the high 70's to low 80's and have been playing much more consistent golf. I always strive to make myself better both in sports and in school as I try my hardest and ask for help if stuck. One of my coaches that I work with at The First Tee Program, Matt Stottern, has been a big help to me. He really helped me get to where I am today and fix up my swing. In school, Mrs. Spetz really pushed me and saw my potential. This opened me up and made me try harder in school. As a result, my GPA went up and brought my cumulative GPA with it.
