Brian T. Rohde’s Personal Statement
Goal: My goal is to portrait a well rounded person and to be looked up to by others for being a classy role model with outstanding morals and values. I want to help others in my community to become better people. I want others to know that I am more than just a student athlete, but that I am a great person in general, willing to be there for others. I believe in love for every single person on the face of this earth. I believe that equal opportunity should be given to everyone, but that competition should choose between the best and the mediocre (If you are a better fit for the job, then you should get the job). I believe that as an athlete, dedication and coachability are the most important skills that an athlete can have, and if you do, then you can get better over time. I feel that everything has to be earned and nothing in this life should be given to you.
Accomplishments: American Legion Outstanding Male Student Award (2016), and I am a Student Pilot at Crosswinds Aviation. (2014-2017)
Philanthropy: I am a board member of The Rohde Foundation. The Rohde Foundation provides annual donations to local, national, and international charities. Past recipients have been The Casper Red Cross, Convoy of Hope, and Doctors Without Borders. Another charity that I take part in is The Heart of Fishing. My dad and I host celebrities on fishing trips and donate the money to ½ the celebrity’s choosing and ½ our choice. Some past recipients were Service Dogs, and Project Healing Waters.
Academics: I am in 9th grade at Natrona County High School. As of now I am in Honors Classes, and will soon be attending the IB program. I am a straight A student and am a great role model for all the kids in my grade.
Athletics: I play basketball for the Mustangs at Natrona County High School. I attend basketball camps throughout the year. One of my favorite basketball camp companies that I attend majority of the time is Breakthrough Basketball. My dad is good friends with the man who runs most of the camps, Coach Brice Searles. Brice is a former professional basketball player who played overseas as well as for the Denver Nuggets, and Utah Jazz. He has also worked with Michael Jordan at The Michael Jordan Flight Camp in California. I also play golf for the Mustangs and am on the Varsity team. I have been to the Drive, Chip, and Putt Regional Finals twice and have earned second place in Putting in 2016. As well as golf, and basketball I love to bowl. I bowl on a Monday night high school league every week and have an average of 194. I was the Wyoming State Champion for the 2015 bowling season, and just recently placed first in the 2017 Casper City Tournament with a 3 game series of 677. My bowling goal is to make it to The Junior Gold Nationals Bowling Tournament and finish in the top 100 bowlers. I am also a part time fly-fishing guide with the Notorious Bros. Guide Service in Casper Wyoming.
Future Goals: I would within the near future like to take a trip to Ghana, Africa to visit the Jesse Rohde Foundation Medical Facility. I would love to bring the children in Ghana 100 soccer balls. I also plan on going to a great college to play the sports of Golf, Bowling and Basketball at a collegiate level as well as get a degree in the engineering field.
