I competed in gymnastics for 6 and a half years. The highest level I competed at was level 8, and I earned a place on the Region Three Gymnastics Team to compete at regionals three times during my gymnastics career. I trained for half of a season as a level 9 but I quit the team due to injuries before competition started.
I started diving late so I was only able to compete in one six dive meet and two eleven dive meets (one of which was Conference and the other was State). I took first at the six dive meet with a score around 230, third at Conference with a score of about 323, and fifth at state with a score of about 347, which set a new school record. After this shortened season during my freshman year, I truly fell in love with the sport and decided to continue to compete.
During my sophomore season, my coach had to quit for family reasons. A few people, including other divers, volunteered to coach me throughout some of the season. I began to learn and compete new dives--helping me improve my scores. I ended up taking first at conference and state. Then during my Junior year my coach came back and I started to work on more dives with higher difficulties, and took first at conference and state again.
I am extremely devoted to diving. I trained in morning and evening practices during both the girl's and boy's seasons throughout my high school career. I attended a diving camp at the University of Utah over the summer between my sophomore and junior years and was able to pick up on some different techniques. I am also devoted to having good grades and continuing my education. I enrolled in a Wyoming History course at Casper College during my freshman year of high school and took all advanced classes. I am currently taking multiple IB classes, including IB Art, IB English, IB History, and Ib Biology at my high school.
I am a team player and love to encourage my teammates and celebrate their successes as well as give support when things don't necessarily go the way they want it to. I am very coachable and love to hear how I can improve my dives. I have fallen in love with diving and would like to attend a college where I can push my limits in both diving and academics.
