I am a goaltender from Alaska. When I was twelve, my team didn't have a goaltender so I volunteered not realizing how much I would enjoy the position. I have found this position to be challenging and also very rewarding. I enjoy being an integral member of the team and when the team morale is down, I find it's important to help bring it back up. I am committed to become a better goaltender and well-rounded person. I attend all practices, clinics, and tournaments. I think the only time I missed a practice last season was when I was out of town playing at a tournament with another team. I work on my off-ice strength training/conditioning year-round and attend summer camps with coach Dez Christopher at the Goalie Club in Minnesota. I love this sport and I want to continue doing it for as long as I can as competitively as possible. I also enjoy the outdoors. Some other interests that I have are mountain biking, snowboarding and video gaming. Academically, I have been working hard to keep my grades up and keep up on my studies. I am currently in the middle of my sophomore year in high school. I have a 3.3 GPA and will complete 15.5 credits out of the required 12 credits. I was able to do this by taking additional correspondence courses. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. -Brayden Baxter
