My name is Gonzalo Almanza, and I was born in 2003. I’ve dedicated myself to hockey for as long as I can remember, playing at the high school level, in the NA3HL, USPHL, and now at Oakland University in ACHA Division I. My collegiate goal is to continue developing as both a player and a leader, contributing to a team that values hard work, discipline, and a strong culture.
What sets me apart is my relentless work ethic and determination to keep improving. I’m passionate about the game and approach every practice, workout, and game with a growth mindset. I’m never satisfied with where I’m at—I’m always focused on where I can go next. My leadership qualities have grown through experience on and off the ice, and I pride myself on being someone my teammates can depend on for support, accountability, and positive energy.
Academically, I bring the same level of dedication. I earned a spot on the Dean’s List for Fall 2024 at Oakland University, which reflects my commitment to balancing athletics with strong academic performance. I understand the importance of being a student-athlete who represents the team with character and integrity in every aspect of life.
I’m looking for a program where I can make an impact and help push the team to new heights, and I believe my drive, passion, and leadership make me a strong candidate for that opportunity.
