Personal Statement

My name is Grant Glusing and I am a hockey player who is pursuing my dream of playing Division 1 college hockey and doing everything I possibly can to achieve my dream. I am currently 5'10" and 142 pounds with a lot of room to grow. I am a hockey player who likes to play a skill game with some physicality. I am more of a shoot-first player than a pass-first player, however in my most recent AAA tournament I had 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points in 5 games. Even though I like to shoot the puck, I am also a big team player and consistently contribute in a positive  way on any team I play on. I have a very good work ethic on and off the ice. I take every possible opportunity I can to get on the ice and practice. I often skate by myself and find drills to do that help my game. I am very coachable and ready to learn and fix any mistakes I am making. I also train off the ice very often and I am in very good shape. I show my leadership skills with a strong worth ethic and I always push my teammates to play their best no matter what the scoreboard shows. Off the ice I always represent my team to the highest standards. This year as a Freshman I am taking advanced courses such as AP Human Geography, pre-AP English, Integrated Math 1, Spanish 2, and CP (college prep) biology. I have a few things I am looking for in a team and that is an inclusive team atmosphere where everyone is pushing each other to be the best player they possibly can be. I also want a team where we can win and succeed. Between hockey and school I don't have much free time but when I do I like to go on bike rides through my city, play and run with my dog, and sometimes I'll play some videogames.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
