I am very passionate of the sport of hockey as it has made me the person I am today. This sport has taught me about both my strengths and opportunities for improvement both on and off the ice. In working with my coaches, I have developed into a shut down two-way defenseman who puts my defensive responsibilities first but am also able to join the rush and quarterback a power play. One of my key strengths is my coachability. I interpret correction as coaching and instruction to help improve my game not as criticism or negativity. In addition, I approach practice the same way as a game and push myself to improve. My size enables me to play a physical game while still being discipline to my positioning. Off the ice I would consider myself self-motivated, considerate and respectful of others. Demonstrating strong character is important not only in day to day life but is also important as a member of a hockey team because it shows leadership and earns respect and trust from my teammates and coaches.
I have been playing hockey since I was five, starting at rec-league and gradually working my way up to my current u14 AA team where I was voted assistant captain by my teammates. The teams I have played for include the Jr. Bulls, the Tampa Scorpions (State Champions 2018) and my most recent team, the Clearwater Ice Storm (State Champions 2020). As a freshman, I made the varsity hockey team for Plant HS. Furthermore, I earned a spot on the Florida Falcons tournament team (2017-2019). As of right now I am playing for NorthShore Hockey Academy (2021-22). This is a AAA hockey program that works in an academy style.
My goal is to play college hockey, because this will enable me to progress not only athletically but also academically. I am currently an honor student and college will help me pursue my athletic and academic goals. I look forward to growing into a better person mentally and physically, pushing both my academic and athletic career further.
