Starfish Play!!!Personal Statement
For the past 10 years of my life, I have developed a great love for the game of hockey which continues to motivate and become better. On and off the ice, I'm constantly working to improve my game and anyone who knows me would say that I never give less than anything I have. For the past two years, I have been awarded the Top Defensemen Achievement on my Junior Varsity team along with an All-star appearance and I am entering my first Varsity season. Along with my drive and tenacity, the things that have gotten me to this point is my ability to listen to coaches and apply what the teach me in game situations, a characteristic every hockey player needs but some struggle with. Along with hockey, I stay physically fit with my own home workouts while balancing my rigorous academic schedule. Every coach I've had has personally told me what a pleasure and vital piece I have been on their team and I'm sure I will be able to fill the same role in college.

- AwardsLeading up to my high school career, I was the salutatorian that represented my graduating class in grammar school and received the Dar Youth Citizenship Award. In high school, I have thus far maintained a perfect GPA so I have secured a spot on the "eagle" honor roll for my first two years
- ActivitiesOver the past couple of years, I have developed a love for music so I joined my school symphonic/marching band by playing the saxophone. I also actively volunteer through organizations like Feed My Starving Children and Chicago Cares in order to provide my services to people in need. In addition, I participate in a variety of clubs such and Key Club, the Green Team, Garden Club, and Tri-M Music Society. Over the summer I also work as a caddie for my local country club and will hopefully obtain a job at the Shedd Aquarium next summer through a work-study program.
