Ever since I could pick up a stick I knew that this is what I wanted to be. A hockey player. The minute I stepped on the ice for the first time I felt right at home. I started with learn to skate at 6 years old and jumped right to learn to play the next session. My whole family has played sports. My dad played ice hockey in Michigan when he was younger as well as baseball. My mom was a softball player and cheerleader. My older brother played floor/roller hockey as well as baseball and was the goalie for his high school soccer team. My sister played volleyball and cheer from 6th grade on. Sports is in my blood.
When I started playing ice hockey I began as a Center. When I was a second year PeeWee I made the AA team. I had a coach who thought by putting me on defense I would quit. I proved him wrong. I challenged myself to learn and practice everything I could. The next season I was a first year Bantam and by the end of the season I was in the top 5% for Defensemen in the Central States division with a +33. When I became a Freshman in high school I was drafted by the Freeburg/Waterloo Raging Bulldogs and the coach put me back as Offense. I am at home anywhere you put me on the ice. While the coach originally thought my moving me to Defense I would give up, he actually helped me become a 2 way player. I am a very defensive minded Forward and am always trying to know where the puck will be.
I am currently a Sophomore at Lebanon High School in Lebanon, IL. Lebanon High School is a small school with maybe 35 students in my graduating class. I am currently an A student and have been on the Math team for the past 2 years. Most of my class mates think I am just a "dumb jock" and I enjoy proving them wrong. At this time I am not in any honors class as our school does not offer them to the younger grades.
