I've been on the ice since I was 5 years old, I started playing hockey because my best friend, who I am still friends with today introduced me to it, and from there on it clicked and I've been attached. I switched to being a goalie when I was 9, and from there on everything changed and I improved beyond what i imagined, and love to get on every chance I get.
I am very competitive by nature, i play many other sports including Lax and Fencing; I've been known by coaches, judges, and players alike that i am very dedicated to what I do, very hard-working, and above all: disciplined. For example, I've only been playing lacrosse for 4 weeks, and am already a starter. I'm always out searching for the next piece of ice, or using spare time to work on aspects of my game, to the point I was playing injured (I later learned to take care of my body and how to manage my hours resting better) But it just shows my love and dedication to the game. Despite many challenging seasons, failures, and rejections, I always push through and find the next opportunity waiting for me, and for that, i was lucky to get noticed by many coaches and get to where I am now.
Last season I played for my high school varsity team, it was a challenging season, having to split time and deal with coaches who didn't understand a goalie's needs, we didn't even have a goalie coach or dedicated hours for goalie skating, which meant I had to go out of my way to find camps and clinics to do. Before high school, I played in Central State at Northwest Chargers for 2 seasons, which were also very good, and Skokie Flyers AA for 2 seasons as well, which I am very proud of for my outstanding performance.
A quick summary about my schooling, I have been online for the last 4 years apart from this year, for which I decided to go back to a public school to play for the high school team, i averaged a 3.5 GPA and SAT of 1200. Teachers have made note of my hard work, how I light up a classroom while learning, and how just like in hockey, I never give up on a play, or in this sense on problems.
While I may not be the quickest or most reactive, I like to make up for my size and aggressive playstyle, i utilize poke-checking in a world that's now played defensively, I always experiment and learn from my mistakes, I may throw out a flying pad-stack, and whether it works or not, is a learning moment, and experience for me. Despite not being quick, I am exceptional in adapting, and reading plays. I spent a lot of time learning positioning and reading body behaviors to therefore better expect what's next, which helps me a lot on plays like 2-0, 2-1, 1-0, etc.
I want to finish this up by saying that I would love to work with any coaches, I am open to many new experiences and would love to play and compete for your clubs.
