When I was about 18 months old, my grandparents gave me a set of plastic Fisher-Price golf clubs. I would spend hours in the kitchen stickhandling with the plastic golf balls not caring about swinging them like golf clubs. As a kid, whenever we would go to ice rinks, I would skate until the skates gave me blisters. When my parents removed my skates and told me it was time to go, I would cry and tell them to put the skates back on even with blisters. To this day, I still love getting on the ice whenever I can.
The main influences on my career so far have been my parents and Jason Wolfe. My father was my coach for many seasons through bantam. He was always ready to help with a push, comfort, advice or time when I needed and whenever anyone of his players needed it. He has taught me to keep driving and grinding, that the process of developing as an athlete is frustrating with many setbacks but to keep pushing and trust consistent hard work will lead to rewards. Coach Wolfe is my position coach. I converted to goalie in the spring of 2017 and started with semi-private lessons in November of 2017. Coach Wolfe had a successful college and pro career, coming from a non-hockey place like Maryland. I aspire to play college hockey and who knows what else that may bring one day. Jason has been tough and fair. Coach Wolfe helps me believe in myself and encourages me to keep my goals high.
I would like to study engineering in college. Currently, I am steering towards marine engineering or mechanical. I would like to play prep school and junior hockey before attending college. It is important that I pursue opportunities through hockey to play at top academic prep schools since many engineering programs are difficult to be accepted into.
I like to spend my free-time fishing, playing golf or hanging out with my friends playing basketball or football in the neighborhood. My friends and I kayak into the Rhode river which feeds the Chesapeake bay and fish after school or on weekends when I have time. I also enjoy playing golf with my dad or grandfather. Recently, I have been learning how to tie flies and have spent some time trying to learn to fly fish. I also play lacrosse. I am a midfielder for our local team and would like to continue playing in prep school as well.
