My future aspirations are to take an architecture degree in post secondary school while playing hockey at an elite level. Getting a good education is very important to me and I believe that my athletic and educational goals will be best fulfilled in the college and university environment. My interest for architecture flared when I was young and I was building things such as hockey nets, wood stools and chairs. I am fascinated by the precision as well as the creativity that goes into the building of large structures. During the warm seasons I work for a concrete company which I believe has given me a greater knowledge of the structural integrity needed to construct buildings of large masses.
Hockey has been part of my life ever since I was able to know what hockey is. With my father being a coach in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League as well as a scout for the Western Hockey League and many other high level hockey teams he was involved with, I became enthralled with the game with my passion growing each year. My style of play is a very hard working two way forward who is not afraid to get into the corners to make a play. I also believe that I carry great leadership qualities. I was an assistant captain for my bantam AAA team with whom I won a Manitoba provincial championship. I was also honoured to be a part of my midget AAA leadership group where we hosted the Telus Cup West Regional Championships.
I believe hockey is an integral part of my future because I am passionate about the sport, I have the ability to play all positions, and it will always play a big role in my life. My goal is to develop my whole self through athletics, academics, and always striving to be a lifelong learner. I am looking forward to this next chapter in my future.
