Personal Statement

I am a student athlete who just graduated high school, and I just began playing my first junior hockey season with the Maryland Black Bears (NAHL). My primary position is left wing; however, I am a versatile player and can play right wing and center. My strengths are puck possession, my shot, production, and my hockey IQ.  I am a leader on and off the ice by encouraging others and being inclusive. I was selected as Team Captain by my teammates for the past 2 seasons (2020-21 and 2021-22). My coaches would describe me as coachable, hard-working, and focused.

This past season, I played in 54 games and recorded 80 points to include 51 goals. In April of 2023, I signed a NAHL tender with the Maryland Black Bears. The previous season, I played in 60 games scored 57 goals, and had 26 assists for a total of 83 points. In May of 2021, I was drafted by the Youngstown Phantoms in the Phase Two USHL Draft. In May of 2022, I was selected by the Mercer Chiefs in the second round of the NCDC Draft.

I am an outgoing person that makes friends easily, but also knows when it is time to focus and work hard instead of being social.  I am connected to my local community through volunteer work that I have done as a mentor for the Washington Ice Dogs, a local hockey organization that provides the opportunity for all ages and abilities to play ice hockey.  I have also volunteered at my church, my local food bank, and as a camp counselor.

I am continuously working to improve myself both on and off the ice. My goal is to earn the opportunity to compete at the highest possible level, while continuing my education at a college that is good fit for me both athletically and academically. I plan to pursue my educational interests in the areas of sports broadcasting/media, communications, business, and sports management.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
