Nicolas Howland '20 Recruiting Profile

I aspire to become a computer hardware designer after college and am very passionate about computers. I have built a few computers and taken apart several to diagnose issues and familiarize myself with the hardware. On the ice and in the locker room I am a commanding leader and take pride in being in a leadership role for any team I play for. I am always talkative on the ice, letting the defenders know how much pressure they have on them or where the open man is. I also take pride in my skills in public speaking and creative problem solving that I apply through my participation in Model United Nations. Model UN has taught me how to apply my own ideas to current events and how to relate the world to my own thoughts. In the spring of 2018, I was given the amazing opportunity to play in a four on four mini-season with the Naval Academy Men's Hockey teams. This opportunity allowed me to face a very hard opponent time after time and give myself a glimpse of the college hockey world.
