I began skating when I was three years old and hockey when I was four. I began to play because all the older kids in my neighborhood played, and I wanted to join them. Also, my grandpa was a big fan so he wanted me to play as well. I've faced a few challenges in the seasons I've played, but the hardest was definitely my sophomore season, or lack there of. My second shift of our first game, I shattered my ankle completely, I needed surgery which abruptly ended my season. It is the best injury I could have asked for though, the injury made me work extremely hard just to get to where I was and further. That injury created the work ethic I pride myself on today. Hockey has given me something even better than a possible chance to play in college. It has taught me how to be a very good friend. My best friend was the goalie for our team my junior and senior year. Just before our season began my junior year, his dad passed away. We weren't close at the time, but I knew hockey was his only escape. A few games into the season, a hip injury ended his; knowing the impact an injury like his can do I called him and ask him to breakfast. This one call led to a bond and eventually a friendship so deep he is practically part of my family now. Things that allow me to succeed in hockey are my work ethic and capability to play in different types of situations. I enjoy the gym and hard work to get better; I also can and play a multitude of styles. I can play a heavy, hard game, or a skilled game. I can play wing, center, and defense when needed, and I can also play in all situations. For the 2017-18 I am attending Northfield Mount Hermon as a post graduate and during my time there I want to get recruited, but also I would like to improve my time management and study skills which are lacking right now. Thank you for your time reading about me.
