My name is Anthony Doucette from Millbury MA, a suburban town 40 miles outside of Boston. I have one sister, Adreanna age 16, is a goalie with the U19 Boston Shamrocks JWHL. As soon as we both could walk our dad had us on skates. My mom was never into hockey. Little did she know back then what a hockey junkie she'd turn into watching us grow into a sport we all love.
In my earlier years my mom loved watching us learning to skate on a cone. She never thought we'd ever "get it". Well, all these years later she lights up when she watches us play. It's the love of the speed, the intensity, the scoring and more importantly the physicality of the game. My mom always says be safe, head up, you hit as hard as you can because the guy hitting you is going to do the same thing, which resonates in my head before every game.
Today I am 20 years old, 6'1 and 225lbs. I am a solid left handed defensive man. My skating agility both front and back is second to none of guys my size. My hitting ability is strong and methodical. Protection of my goalie is a main focus. I continue to work on my stick handling and speed which will always be areas of focus of growth. I am a team player because its never about me its about my team. I have the utmost respect for every coach I've ever had because they want me to succeed and I respect the time they take every day to work with me.
I previously played Varsity hockey as a freshman with St. Peter-Marian in Worcester, MA (D1). In August 2017 I was recruited by the Northern Cyclones, Tier 1 AAA National Hockey League, Hudson NH (EJEPL/USPHL). COVID came i returned home and played with the Jr. Bruins and most recently I'm with the Jr Worcester Railers. I love the comradery of my team. I love the intensity. My teammates are from all over the country and was a great season finishing 30-10-2. It was an awesome experience that I hope to continue until college.
I am a man of few words. I am very quiet and I pride myself on the respectfulness that I have been taught by my parents. I aspire to be a great son and brother, a good person and a phenomenal hockey player.
If there is anything else i can tell you about myself that would differentiate me from other recruits is the fact that I am dedicated to a sport I love. I will work harder, skate faster, hit stronger. I will make you proud you picked me because I'll be just as proud playing for a team that also respects me as much as I do them.
