Matthew Coe '20 Recruiting Profile

Through the last couple years of hockey I've seen careers end. Wether they were taken through injury, lack of ability or a personal choice. But as I've dedicated the 20 years of my life to the sport of hockey I know I won't look back in regret. My goal was always to play hockey as long as possible no matter the level or what others do. There's no room closer to a family than a locker room with 25-30 players all united through sport. And why would I ever want to leave that? I'm currently playing for the Texas Brahmas in the NA3HL as I enter my last year of juniors and look to college. Last season with the Brahmas I recorded 9 goals and 14 assist in 43 games. I am a top line penalty killer. I love blocking shots and keeping the puck out of our net while the opposition is on a man advantage. I am a strong 5'11 195lb role playing center that is active in the corners and loves to set up plays for the boys in front of the net. I love generating momentum and getting the team going wether it gets on the score sheet or not. I have no interest in being a McDavid or a Matthews as I know what I am good at and that's killing penalties and winning battles. I look to add better touch around the net and generating more offensive play as I will be a leaders on and off the ice this upcoming season.
