Hello Coach,
I love the game of hockey.
I have been fortunate to learn from outstanding coaches who have developed my game, taught me how to play the game properly, and shared a plan of "what it takes" to play junior and college hockey. I have committed myself to do it.
I have been on teams that have won often, state championships, and even a run in Nationals. I aspire to be there every year!
The last few years I have been on teams that play a "puck possession" style of play, vs a dump and chase style. I feel it fits me well.
My past coaches have described me as a solid three zone, strong two-way player. I am coachable and dependable. In the defensive zone, I hit the first breakout pass well, then follow the play into the offensive zone. I block out well in front of the net, I am strong on the boards, retain good gap control, and strive to have an active stick. I have been told I have a good, quick release on the point and an above average shot. Most of my career, I have played consistently on the power-play and penalty kill.
I plan on playing college hockey. That is my goal. I know I want a quality college education which will allow me to develop good career options in my post-hockey life while enjoying playing hockey in the college environment.
I am a level 2 referee and enjoy it, I plan on doing it while in college, if feasible.
I am also very fortunate to have total family support as I pursue my dream. I understand the sacrifices made for me to play hockey at a high level and would love the opportunity to give back to them.
Thank you for your interest.
Sincerely,
Cam Cervone
