Personal Statement

Hi,

My name is Cole Costello, I am in my fourth full season of Tier II AA hockey in North Texas. I am an extremely athletic and tall goalie for my age group, and work hard both in school and taking care of my body with proper nutrition and exercise. I will be attending Cretin-Derham Hall class of 2024, in Saint Paul, MN. My coaches will tell you I battle in every game, work very hard in practice, spend extra time polishing my game, and am a leader both on and off the ice! My coaches will also tell you I am extremely coach-able, and I am willing to learn and grow, even if the team as a whole isn't successful. I also keep a positive attitude, and hold myself to a very high standard. I would love to discuss any opportunities that are offered to me, and would be willing to visit with colleges that may be interested in adding a valuable teammate.

Thank you for looking at my page!

  • For over 45 years, Dallas Junior Hockey Association (DJHA) has celebrated tremendous success and takes pride in the legacy of excellence that is Dallas Penguins hockey. Since 1971, the consistent high level of Tier II/AA success the Dallas Penguins organization has experienced throughout the last decade is unmatched in the DFW area. Over the past three seasons, we've had a total of fifteen (15) Dallas Penguins teams advance to the Dallas Stars Travel Hockey League Finals, resulting in ten (10) DSTHL Championship wins. We've won six (6) Tier-II State Championship titles, highlighted by an unprecedented "hat trick" and clean sweep of all divisions at the 2017 Tier-II State Championship Tournament. Seven (7) of our Dallas Penguins teams have advanced to the USA Hockey Youth Tier-II National Championships, resulting in two (2) Quarter-Finalists at the 16U & 14U division levels, three (3) Bronze Medalists at the 18U, 16U & 14U division levels, and on April 10, 2017 our Dallas Penguins 16U AA Team defeated Hockey Club Dallas, right here at home in Frisco, Texas, to win the 2017 USA Hockey Youth Tier-II 16U National Championship title! A first in DJHA history! At DJHA, we believe youth hockey is far more than just a sport, it’s a life experience that ensures consistent and positive influences for youngsters as they grow. Youth hockey is recognized as a unique sport among others for its inherent development of good character traits in kids. Players learn key life skills including hard work, teamwork, respect, citizenship, sportsmanship, and self-confidence. As a sport, it is unsurpassed in its “fun-to-fitness ratio”. The skills required of a hockey player exceed other sports with the combination of agility, endurance, reaction time, balance, positioning, and strength needed to play the game at this level. At the same time, the speed and challenge of the game captures the soul of the young player, as it’s just plain fun. The sport promotes the family concept throughout including the player parents who travel, stay and play together on tournament trips. And the kids make fast friends which endure the passage of time.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
