I started playing hockey at 10 years of age. Before that time my family did not make much money. I told my parents I needed to play hockey before it would be too late to start. Later that year they put me in hockey. I was very excited to finally play. I knew how to skate before I started playing but I had never held a hockey stick in my hands before. Almost everything was new to me. That year was very hard for me, but I had learned a lot. That year I learned the basic fundamentals of the sport. Ever since then I have been getting better.
This past year was amazing. I was voted by my whole team to be the Captain. It was a great feeling of accomplishment just seeing how far I had come. I had many goals and assists. My coach would also talk with me and we talked about what we could do to make our team better. I motivated my team to try to win. I also pushed my team so we could also become better. This off season I am doing two AAA teams and I am playing a year up. I am doing that so I can become an even better hockey player. I live 30 miles away from my association’s rink, but I am very dedicated and I strive to get better.
At school academics come easy to me. I have a 3.95 out of a 4.0 grade point average. I am in as many advanced classes as I can be. In state testing, I have exceeded in every subject. In the future I want to go into the Medical field of work since math and science come easy to me. I want to start with pre-medical. My major goal in life is to be an Orthopedic Surgeon.
