Joseph Dokken '18 Recruiting Profile

I started playing hockey when I was 5 years old, ever since then I have been in love with the game. There isn't any part of it I don't like. Hockey is my favorite thing to do by far. From getting up super early to spending the whole day at the rink it's all a blast to me. Besides hockey I have been enjoying playing lacrosse, golf, and hanging out with friends. 

Every time I step on the ice I love the game that much more and it pushes me to want to be that much better. My goal is to play divison 1 hockey and I believe I have the talent, work ethic, and commitment needed to pull it off. I have played all positions, yes when I was really young I did try goalie but didn't like it. Still to this day though I go back and forth from playing forward and defense. I believe I bring speed and creativity to the front end but I also believe I bring the ability of having an aggressive stick and body to the defensive end without putting myself out of position. I also like to rush the puck when I am on the back end as well. 

I believe through my time of playing hockey I have developed a good shoot, good speed, and an ability to see the ice. I can work the puck very well down low while being able to find the front of the net, I also can be a threat up at the point and can skate with the puck and get into the opposing zone. Overall I am a very versatile player that can bring skill to your team wherever you may need me.
