Cody Schwoeppe '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cody Schwoeppe I am currently in 10th grade, and because of my hard work and resiliency I was selected to be on the Priory varsity team this year and last year (freshman year). I was introduced to hockey ever since I could understand words. I would watch the NHL and always had a desire to play the game. I started skating when I was seven and began playing on a club team when I was eight. I was originally a forward, but I love playing the full game and be ing very I fluently in the outcome of the game. I am an aggressive goalie, always challenging the shooter and never afraid to use the poke check. As my family isn't the wealthiest family in the world, I had to work summers to make money to play. Growing up in a small town that is 45 minutes away from the closest rink, I understand that I need to make the most of my ice time, and I don't need to waste my time or my parents time. 

I love the game and I don't want to stop playing. I currently have a 3.7 GPA and I hope to keep it above 3.5 for the rest of my high school career. I know how hard it will be to play hockey in college, because I know that in hockey, many colleges look for tier one players or junior league players. However I believe hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. My idol is Tyler Parks who currently plays for the Tuscon Roadrunners, and has an incredible story. I hope you give me a chance as I believe I would be a great addition to a hockey team and a college.
