Trey Mattern '22 Recruiting Profile

What makes me stand out among other goaltenders, is my ability to take criticism and make myself better as a player. My work ethic I believe is not like any other person I know. I am always on the ice working to get myself better and i guarantee I will outwork anyone that is put up against me. I am a very competitive person which takes its place on the ice. I do not like losing, so I will do everything in my power to get my team the win. I am a very hard worker on the ice, however that carries into the classroom as well. I maintain a 3.8 GPA and push myself to get better every single day. I believe my playing style is like no other. I am a very aggressive, butterfly goalie. To make up for my size, I make sure my footwork is crisp and I am fast moving North, South, and East, West. Finally, having the right character traits is one of the biggest things I keep in mind. I am a lockeroom guy. I always give my teammates encouragement and motivational speeches when they need it, especially my goalie partners. I like to show that not only I am a well-rounded goaltender, but that I am a well-rounded person as well.
