Knowledge is power. Work smart, play smart, study smart. All of these things motivate me to stay focused and dedicated to achieving my goals. I feel that while being an exceptional athlete is important to playing at the collegiate level, academics are also crucial to being able to do that. Being a strong student gives me the drive and perseverance to be a committed and dedicated hockey player. At the same time, being a strong athlete gives me the drive to be a strong student. You must never give up to achieve your goals no matter what happens. You can't let anything deter you, you must push past it. This is because if you want to be a smart hockey player, you must be a smart student. I feel that I am different from other hockey players because I value my academics just as much as I value hockey. That no matter what I will always put in the same amount of work that I would put into hockey. That also coincides with that at every practice and every game I will always give 110% no matter what is going on. By doing this, I am able to perform at the highest level every time I step onto the ice. My character is also something that I feel very strong about. I feel that it is important to be a good teammate if you want the people around you to be as committed as you are. You can't be a bad teammate because then your team can't work as one coherent group on and off the ice. Overall, I feel like I am the whole package to be able to perform at the highest levels of collegiate hockey, both on the ice and in the classroom.
