I am a highly motivated student-athlete and leader. I have earned the trust of my teammates both on and off the ice. I keep the team positive when something doesn't go the way we want it to. Most importantly, my hard work on and off the ice sets an example for my teammates and pushes them to be the best players they can be. I will do whatever it takes to defend my teammates and win games.
Something that sets me apart from other goalies is I was a U.S. Student Ambassador for People to People, a prestigious opportunity where I was given the chance to represent the United States on three different trips.
At the age of nine, I traveled to Western Canada. There I stayed at the University of Calgary, University of Vancouver, as well as went out on the ocean with marine biologists who were studying Orca Whales. I also had the amazing opportunity to live out on the plains with the Indian nation for two days and learned how to construct a tee pee and met the oldest women in the village who at the time was 110.
I also had the opportunity to travel to London, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales for 19 days at the age of 11, where I had the chance to meet with members of British Parliament, go on the London Eye, see Big Ben, kiss the Blarney Stone, visit the Cliffs of Mohr and "search" for the Lockness Monster on Lake Lockness.
My favorite trip of all, however, was when I traveled to Australia for 12 days where I learned out to surf at Bondi Beach, snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef and learned about the conservation efforts to save the reef, toured the Sydney Opera House, and walked on Rainbow Beach, which is known for its different colored sands throughout the beach. I also met with the Aborigines who taught me how to play the didgeridoo and learned about their culture.
I love taking new adventures and challenges. I am looking forward to college and competing on the collegiate level. I have always been a big believer in being a leader both on and off the ice. You have the power to make a difference in this world, and that's my goal.
