I am looking for a college to transfer to, so I can further my education and athletic career.
All my life I have watched hockey. I used to go to the local minor league team's, Charlotte Checkers, all the time when I was younger. Although I had never played the game of hockey, let alone ice skate, I was in love with the sport. One day, when my mom asked me if I wanted to try another sport, without any hesitation, I said, "hockey." She told me no for 3 years, before she finally gave in. I did not know how hard the game actually was until the first time I stepped out on the ice. I learned that this was not going to be easy. The more I skated, the better I got. I was in love with the game and knew that was what I waned to play the rest of my life. It was a very long and hard road to get to where I am today. It has taking a lot of travel, hard work, time and support of my parents. I feel I still have a lot of room and willing to improve on my game in many ways.
I am a great leader on my team and a hard worker. I am committed to any team I play for. I am very competitive and want to win every game. I am ready for any challenge that I face. In the classroom, I learned that it takes a lot of work and dedication to get good grades. I am truly a hard worker and good student. It took me my Freshman and about halfway through my Sophmore year to find who I am today and realize that I was messing up.
I have been playing hockey since I was a Mite. Since I have started to play, I have always beem a leader on the team. It could be leading my team in scoring, getting an assist, or just being there to lift my teammates up and pushing them to be their best. I want to win every game, and never give up until the final buzzer sounds. When I started 12U hockey, I was captain of teamy m . I was also captain in my second year of 14u hockey. Even if I am not a Captain, I am there telling everyone to not give up.
In my time away from hockey, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love cheering on my Dad and his teammates in the NASCAR Cup Series. I know that if it was not for my parents sacrifice, I would not be where I am today. I love to watch and play anything sports.
In my Squirts and Pee Wee years, I created a fundraiser for my former babysitter who was diagnesed with Ocular Melanoma. Her name was Meredith Legg, and she was diagnosed in her senior year of college. I loved her, and wanted to help support her. I created, "Goals for Meredith." During this fundraiser, family and friends would donate money for each goal or assist I scored. At the end of the season, my parents would give all money raised to Ms. Meredith to go towards her foundation.
I am undecided with what I want to do when I go to College at this time. I am looking at several possible degrees that could lead to something involving sports. I am also intereseted in possibly going for business or communications.
